As the National Account Manager you will be expected to leverage your enthusiasm for helping customers and your knowledge of the channel to drive sales of Eco-Products existing and custom product sales to regional and national grocery and packer processor accounts targeting the fresh prepared foods perimeter of the supermarket, natural grocery and convenience store segments. You will also be responsible for evaluating and ascertaining market trends and customer preferences for sustainable materials.

This position requires the ability to build and foster effective customer relationships at all levels of the organization. You will be responsible for gathering, reporting and providing customer feedback to cross functional teams in the organization.

Face to face direct selling with 50% travel is required.


Reports To: Vice Presidents of Sales

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work with marketing & product development teams to refine Eco-Products value proposition in the prepared foods category

  • Actively solicit sales with national and regional supermarket grocery, food processor and C-store accounts

  • Establish and maintain a healthy and active sales pipeline

  • Sell and manage custom projects with the intent to maximize revenue and profitability consistent with company objectives

  • Responsible for negotiating contracts at account headquarters and securing & maintaining distribution of products

  • Have technical ability to comfortably work with customers on new packaging designs and be able to communicate to internal design and product development teams the fit for use requirements of the packaging and customer expectations

  • Ability to explain the attributes of various sustainable materials and make substrate and design recommendations to customers based on the performance requirements of the package

  • Coordinate and conduct project planning needs with cross functional teams to define and communicate customer needs, product strategy, key objectives and the customer evaluation criteria used to make go/no-go decisions

  • Effectively negotiate and manage customer projects throughout all stages of the sales cycle

  • Negotiate win/win solutions

  • Accomplishes all tasks as assigned in a timely manner


Qualifications: Competencies, Education and Experience

  • Thorough knowledge of the grocery and packer processor channels

  • Strong existing relationships with grocery, deli and bakery customers

  • Desired Education Level: BS/BA degree

  • 7-10 years retail grocery or packer processor sales experience

  • Superior negotiating, organizational, and selling skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Excellent ability to keep a large number of projects/tasks going concurrently

  • Results oriented

  • Proven interest and demonstrated past involvement in environmentally responsible causes, issues and organizations.

Location - NegotiableWork Environment

This is a full time, exempt position. Some weekend and evening work is required.
