Production Supervisor

WNA Inc. is seeking a 2nd shift Packaging Supervisor to manage a staff of 30-40 employees. Candidates must have experience in “running” a production and packaging shift, oversees and direct the work of employees to meet the requirements of the production schedule. Additional duties will be to schedule labor on a daily basis, train, prepare daily attendance reports and time cards and provide packaging supplies. Must have written and verbal communication skills, bilingual would be a plus, as is familiarity with computer knowledge. Must be organized and be able to multitask. This is an outstanding position for a candidate that posses leadership skills, people skills and willingness to learn new tasks.

  • Supervise, train, review, promote, discipline and terminate employees in the packaging group.

  • Provide personnel with necessary paperwork affecting an employee’s status.

  • Utilize available personnel to meet the needs of the production schedule.

  • Follow production schedule priorities, revisions and changes.

  • Comply with and enforce company rules of conduct and safety.

  • Communicate with other supervisor’s and departments.

  • Maintain weekly time reports (work center).

  • Prepare daily attendance reports and time cards for computer entry.

  • Report and investigate all accidents.

  • Help and advice floor people.

  • Make sure packers and utilities have the proper equipment to do their job easily and efficiently as possible.

  • Must be on the production floor for a minimum of 6 hours per shift.

  • Must review packaging labor on a daily basis and make changes to ensure that we are using the lowest amount of labor.

Be responsible for the safe evacuation of shift in an emergency.

  • Schedule labor on a daily basis.

  • Oversee proper use of the WMS system used by the utilities and to understand the process.

  • Ordering of corrugated for all three shifts (1st shift and 2nd shift).

A high school diploma or GED is required, or 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in a fast pace manufacturing environment are necessary for this position. Must be able to work overtime including weekends with short notice.

Salary is commensurate with appropriate background and experience.
