The Senior Quality Engineer manages general site compliance in accordance with our ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System. They will lead and direct the activities of the Quality Systems Team leader, and Senior Analytical Chemist.

They will work directly with various levels of the operations team to improve products and processes. Assisting various Operations Managers, work to formulate the customer complaint response, and verify the effectiveness of all corrective actions. Ensure a high level of customer service.

Develop and analyze statistical data and product or process specifications to recommend improvements that will improve the reliability of processes, and the capability of finished products.

Improves key performance indictors by analyzing information, preparing and completing action plans, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service improvements, determining system improvements, while acting as a positive change agent.

Develop implementation plans (I-Plans) by identifying critical control points, bottlenecks, preventative measures, corrective actions, and monitoring & verification procedures.

Validates processes by establishing specifications, measuring production, documenting evidence, determining operational and performance qualification, and writing or updating procedures or work instructions.

Lead the transition team for Quality System upgrade to the new 2015 ISO standard.

Directly responsible for ensuring the following systems are implemented, maintained, and improved:

  • Product Testing & Certification System-Create, document, and implement inspection critea, and procedures.

  • Supplier Quality System-Interact with vendors to ensure quality of purchased product.

  • Document Control System

  • Internal Audit System

  • Corrective & Preventative Action System

  • Calibration System



  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering curriculum

  • Six Sigma Black Belt Preferred

  • Formal training in problem solving

  • Formal training in process improvement techniques including 5S, SMED, TPM, SPC, & Process Capability.


  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience.

  • Experience using SPC to drive process improvement.

  • Experience responding to customer complaints, and developing corrective actions that eliminate the root cause or causes. Must possess strong customer satisfaction skills.

  • Able to lead an internal audit program and ensure timely response to all findings.

  • Strong Computer skills. Ability to easily learn new software programs.

  • Ability to be flexible with regards to changing priorities while maintaining a positive can-do attitude.

  • Ability to provide technical & statistical expertise to the “Best Practice” teams.

  • Self-starter. Must be able to set daily priorities, drive thru roadblocks, or develop alternate solutions to achieve desired outcomes.
