The Senior Financial Analyst will demonstrate leadership to implement and maintain responsibility for a reporting system that gives a detailed analysis of the business unit’s results as compared to budgets, forecasts and prior years. The Senior Financial Analyst will assist the Director of Finance in the development, implementation and communication of best practices in accounting methods, processes, data analytics and the monitoring of results. The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Director of Finance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learn SAP functionality and identify methods to improve analytical reporting and automate processes within the Accounting department.
Work with Plant controllers and other financial personnel to develop solid understanding of all aspects of the business.
Month end reporting for business unit internal reports and divisional and corporate requests.
Analyze a wide variety of data to identify opportunities to improve forecasting methods, including performance monitoring and reporting against expectations, trend analysis, and forecasts.
Ad hoc reporting for corporate.
Special projects as assigned.
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
Develops value-added financial analysis for use by the organization to improve overall results. This includes customer profitability, product profitability, and SKU profitability analyses.
Assists in the development of the annual budget and reforecast, particularly in the area of SG&A expenses.
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Work with Financial Services to generate monthly general ledger entries as needed in the SG&A cost centers.

Expected Travel: Approximately 10% - 15%
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics from an accredited College or University required.
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a Financial Analysis role required.
A minimum of intermediate proficiency with Excel required.
A minimum of intermediate ability with Microsoft Office Suite (PPT, Word, Outlook) required.
High concern for detail and accuracy required.
High level of communication skills, including effective presentation, verbal, and listening skills required.Preferred Qualifications:
Five (5) or more years’ experience in a Financial Analysis role preferred.
SAP experience in financial applications highly preferred.
Hyperion (HFM) experience highly preferred.
Advanced proficiency with Excel highly preferred.
Demonstrated Budgeting & Forecasting experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience at Planning & Analysis preferred.
Demonstrated ability at reporting to Senior Management preferred.
Demonstrated success in process improvement techniques preferred.
Demonstrated strong organizational skills preferred.Competencies:

Sitting at workstation approximately 85 percent of work time. Standing and walking approximately 15 percent of work time.
Must be able to travel 10 – 15 percent of work time
Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.
Typical office environment with shelves, overhead and above work surfaces.
