Hourly Production

Primary Purpose of Position:

Under the guidance of the Quality technician, improve product and process quality by effective application of quality tools and procedures. Audit and assess product and process quality against defined requirements. Document nonconformity and help facilitate problem solving to improve existing quality levels.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Teamwork Communicate / Review shift duties with Quality Technician

  • Assess product quality KEM raw sheets, printed sheets, finished decks, components (tuck cases) against defined customer requirements, process specifications, and performance standards.

  • Inspect, measure, and isolate.

  • Report nonconforming product. Communicate all Holds and potential process failures to Lead Operators, Supervisors and Management.

Specific Duties will include:

  • Press Inspection.

  • Review of work orders to allow ability to understand and recognize non-conformities in job

  • Inspection

  • Hold

  • Isolate

  • Reworking

  • Include sheets, Strips, and Raw Material and Finished Goods as required

  • Understanding rework instructions

  • Additional responsibilities as required.

Basic Qualifications :


  • 20/20 corrected vision

  • Color acuity

  • Excellent visual detail

  • Keen attention to written instructions

  • Self-directed and able to meet daily/ weekly / monthly expectations

  • Able to perform basic math functions

  • Able to conform with ALL safety equipment as required

  • Ear plugs

  • Safety glasses or shield

  • Safety shoes

  • Gloves


  • Previous Quality Inspection and Quality Assurance

  • High School and above

  • Work related experience in a process improvement environment preferred.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Sitting at workstation approximately 50% of work time, standing and walking approximately 50%

  • Lift up to 35 pounds.

  • Push and / or pull

  • Sheet loads (1,000 lbs.)

  • Stripper trucks (800 lbs.)

  • Ability to twist, reach, squat, kneel, and bend

  • Requires ability to reach, grasp, and manipulate objects

  • Able to carry stacks of finished decks from one point to another.

  • Ability to use basic hand truck

  • Involves moderate risks or discomforts and special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, pallets, trucks and machines.

  • Employees are required to use safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes at all times.
