Jarden Corporation Quality Assurance Technician in Holley, New York


Overview: Provide the necessary training and guidance within the assigned shift to assure all products being produced meet critical to function (CTF) criteria at all times.

Take actions necessary to assure deviations in product quality are corrected, documented and communicated to responsible personnel.


Task Description

Product Inspection Audits (Attention to Detail) Perform routine product inspection audits while on shift, assuring all product being produced meets specifications.

Review product data to ensure accuracy of information and that all expectations are being met.

Quality Support / Training Train and assist Cell Leads / Operators on shift to quality procedures and inspection methodologies to improve team capabilities.

Audit Retention samples Evaluate previous shifts retention samples daily to verify product samples meet critical to function criteria.

Non-Conforming Products Place non-conforming products on hold following established procedures as needed.

Assure quarantined product is properly identified and communicated.

Review NCMR’s for accuracy. Review product or raw material samples for reject able condition, assure properly labeled and submitted to QA.

Product Re-work/Sorts Oversee and direct product audits / sorts as needed within the shift. Assure proper close out of work orders, and disposition of parts.

Assure product hold / inspection area is maintained to housekeeping standards at end of shift.

Leadership / Communication Lead shift in Supervisor’s absence. Assign tasks to employees, assure personal safety and product safety is managed, prepare shift production output and downtime reports at end of shift.

Communicate daily with incoming shift, document all pertinent information.

Product Safety (BRC) Understand BRC requirements in regard to producing legal, safe and quality products. Working knowledge of GMP’s, Product Safety and Quality Management.

Perform line or area audits as directed.

Personal Safety Understand and follow all established safety policies. Be aware of surroundings. Help identify work place hazards to improve personal safety for all.



 Working knowledge of thermoforming and plastics desired.

 Working knowledge of measuring instruments; micrometers, calipers, etc.

 Familiarity with quality control methodologies.

 Attention to detail in dimensional studies and data collection a must.

 Working knowledge of statistical process control desired.

 Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Out Look).

 Good organizational and communication skills.

 Familiarity with BRC or other GFSI product safety schemes.

 Able to work individually and with others as a team.

 Able to complete assigned projects on schedule.

 Good leadership skills a must.

 Capable of performing physical activities to which include; standing, sitting, climbing, reaching, or bending for prolonged periods of time. Some pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying.
