Jarden Corporation Senior Financial Analyst in Minneapolis, Minnesota
As our key senior financial analyst, sales finance you will be responsible for timely and accurate execution of several monthly and annual processes within the Scholastic business¿ Sales Finance group.
Administration of Oracle Sales Compensation for multiple organizations, including
o Testing of annual system updates and other code changes
o Trouble-shooting system issues and other sub-ledger balancing
o Month end close of sales compensation sub-system
o Process improvements and updating of associated policies and procedures
Rep analysis as assigned, including, but not limited to:
o Forecast sales rep financial plans; including review with sales management
o Commission Analysis on territory transitions and realignments along with related rep changes upon finalization of territory transition plans
o Overdraft reporting
Annual rep settlement
Month end close activities for multiple Oracle organizations and business units, including:
o Journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for sales representative overdraft and commission payable accounts
Execute the U.S. 1099 process (calculation, distribution, federal filing, problem resolution) for International, Printing and Scholastic Independent Sales Reps.
BA/BS degree in accounting or finance
¿ 6+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
¿ Advanced level Microsoft Access and Excel skills are essential.
¿ Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
¿ Strong analytical and problem solving skills
¿ Ability to make sound business decisions based on a mixture of policy, situational analysis, experience and common sense
¿ Ability to effectively cope with change and deal with uncertainty in the business climate
¿ Ability to quickly understand business issues and processes, including financial implications of sales compensation on both the income statement and balance sheet
¿ Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
¿ Ability to effectively relate with people at all levels of the internal organization as well as external
¿ Ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations and bring results that are beneficial to all parties
¿ Ability to write clearly and succinctly such that the message is understood by all
¿ Ability to come up with creative, value-added solutions to business problems and concerns
