Position Title: Regional Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, provides human resources consultation and support to designated retail stores. Uses knowledge of various human resources functions including, staffing, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations and legal compliance to provide tactical HR support to managers. Consults with business unit or retail store management in the strategic planning process and development of human resources strategies that support the business unit or retail store needs. Acts as a liaison to other HR functions as necessary. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supports assigned retail stores by utilizing knowledge of a variety of HR concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.

  • Contributes to the business strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, structures and processes

  • Provides day to day performance management guidance and training to management (coaching, counseling, talent planning, disciplinary action, investigation and maintaining a union free workplace)

  • Consults with management and provides HR policy guidance and interpretation; facilitate resolution of complex employee relations issues; ensures effective, thorough and objective investigations.

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day to day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance

  • Works closely with management and employees to provide expert advice and coaching to improve work relationships, build engagement, and increase productivity and retention.

  • Supports managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the business strategy

  • Acts as consultative and business support team member to the HRBP Team and their retail stores.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years related field human resources experience, preferably in a retail environment

  • Cross functional HR knowledge; manage multiple business units in multiple locations;

  • Excellent leadership, people management and coaching skills

  • Strong communication/conflict resolution and influencing skill,

  • Must remain current with designated division business acumen and knowledge

  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results

  • Self-directed and motivated; takes initiative to identify and anticipate business unit needs and make recommendations for implementation;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality

This is a home based role with Ability to travel to retail stores and corporate office 60% of the time.
