Position Overview

This role is responsible for the timely collection of accounts, with the main objective being to improve cash flow and minimize bad debt loss, while supporting the sales effort.

Responsibilities

Collect specified/assigned accounts.

*Review account status report and order hold reports regularly

*Contact past due and problem accounts and make arrangements for payment

*Respond to inquiries by customers

*Complete significant account report monthly

*Work with Customer Care on returns and credit memos

*Advise supervisor of seriously and/or potentially delinquent accounts, and accounting problems in a timely manner

*Prepare specific reserves before each month end

*Comply with all SOX and finance policies

Work with Collections Manager to develop goals, objectives and to assist in the performance review process.

Work with assigned Account Clerk as well as other internal accounting and plant personnel to coordinate the resolution of account record problems.

Qualifications

Required:

*Business/accounting background and experience

*Strong verbal and written communication skills

*Ability to work independently and deal effectively with customers

*Working level ability with MS Office suite

*Ability to be tactful but firm when dealing with delinquent account holders

Preferred:

*2 year degree in business or accounting

*2 years┬┐ prior collection and auditing experience
