Job Summary: The Stuffer/Belter/Packer is responsible for inserting foam into personal flotation devices, threading cords and belts on devices and applying hang tags per specifications. Responsibilities also include, tagging PFDs according to UL requirements, inserting display hooks, hangers, Inserting assigned vest in box by following established procedures, tap box, affix appropriate sticker on box and other duties as assigned by management.

Job Duties:

Insert foam into assembled life vests according to specifications, counting correct number of layers of foam.

Thread belt through loops, thread buckle component onto webbing, and snap buckles shut.

Affix UPC tag and Think Safe Pamphlet on vest with a ticket gun according to specifications.

Routinely check product for open seams, missed stitches, dirt, etc. and notify appropriate personnel in department.

Notify department personnel when work or raw materials are needed.

Completes required production reports and submit daily.

Assists in keeping work area neat, clean and organized.

Participates in employee wellness and exercise program if required.

Performs miscellaneous other assignments as required.

Tag various PFD’s products following established UL requirements.

Insert display hook on assigned product

Place hanger on assigned products

Insert assigned vest in box following established procedures

Run box through tapping machine

Attached style number sticker on box

Stack box as directed

Monitors products/materials to detect defects to insure acceptable quality.

Assists in keeping work area neat, clean and organized.

Responsible for injury prevention, promoting safety and maintaining a neat and orderly workplace.

Performs miscellaneous other assignments with a high degree of urgency and flexibility.


Job Requirements include the ability to:

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred or experience preferred.

Language Skills: May be required to fill out production sheets and traceability sheets after training.. Ability to communicate with other employees in the organization or notify assigned personnel there is an issue that needs to be addressed. Interpreter will be provided by Coleman as required to confirm understanding.

Mathematical Skills: May be required to read numbers, count, add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to comply with company’s and regulatory agencies quality standards. Interpreter will be provided by Coleman as required to confirm understanding.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able stand for extended periods of time. The employee may be required to use fingers, hands and arms to operate machines and reach for, hold, grasp, push/pull, and handle material repetitively with a high degree of dexterity. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to limited moving mechanical equipment.
